Tonight, Eve and I had to pick up Daddy at the light rail station. His carpoolmate had gotten sick and needed to go home early. When we got to the light rail station, we had a couple of minutes before his train would arrive, so I decided to get Eve out of the car so that she could watch all the action.
At first, she oh'ed and ah'ed over the train that came and went. Then Daddy's train arrived. I pointed him out to her and she began to yell "Daddy! Daddy!" He had to unload on the far side of the train so when he got off, she couldn't see him anymore. Eve got very quiet and as the train pulled away she whispered "Byebye, Daddy."
Suddenly, the train moved far enough for her to see her daddy...and all heck broke loose. She started kicking and waving her arms and she screamed "DADDY! DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!" until he made his way over to us. People were looking at us (like they wondered if that dark-haired lady had stolen that little blonde, blue-eyed baby), but Eve only had eyes for her Daddy. She was so happy to see him. It was precious and melted both my heart and Daddy's heart too.
P.S. - There's a new picture post below this one.
